How To Make Your Blog Into A Business

Whether you are blogging as marketing tactics for your small business or try to turn your blog into a source of revenue, here are three of the most popular optionsfor documenting what you have to say, and how to make money from it.

The traditional blog

Some bloggers just want to write. There are many potential topics, ranging from hobbies (such as cakes or fish). Often times, this blog may have the media, such as images or videos, that corresponds to that in writing.

Jill Nystul, founder of the blog the One Good Thing, says that even though he started the blog as a side project, he finally succeeded enough to quit my day job and become a full time blogger.

"This has been a source of income for myself and my team of four full-time and two part-time employees during the last few years," said Nystul. "There is good money to be done if you have decent traffic and can go with the leading advertising network."

Nystul advises would-be bloggers to write consistently about a topic in which theyhave special expertise, and use social media to their advantage.

"About 50 percent of our traffic comes from social media now. It used to be closer to 80 percent, "said Nystul Business News Daily. "The longer we've been getting a lot of traffic comes from direct search-which obviously we like because it is more reliable, but if we want to keep our core readers involved and find new, social media is here very helpful."

The network is also important for success in blogging industry, said Nystul. Create relationships with other bloggers, which can lead to collaboration and incoming links, help increase traffic and credibility for your site, he said.

Blog photos

As the content will become increasingly visual, a photo blog is a great way to engage your target audience. Sites like Tumblr allows users to send or "Reblog" imageand share or digitally created photos from their daily lives.

Similar to a traditional blog, blog photos can have the words along with the image, such as a description or words that complete the scene. However, the main page is coated with pictures than words entries.

tour photographer Perlito r. Pagay recently started a photo blog on WordPress called Globaltrail, where he was sharing the beauty of the Earth through his own experience.

"This kind of blog is more on the subject see real [through] the image rather than using our imagination [through] the narrative," he said. The intent behind the photography is to share the "entertainment, awarenessinformation and knowledge" ofa place or a specific event.

Pagay advise all potential bloggers photo to focus on one subject, understand and maintain specific objectives (e.g., entertainment, hobbies), ensuring the clarity ofthe photos, and add a description under each image.

Zuzu Galova and Peter Sedlacik, founder of Lens Between Us, travel the world, taking photographs of one another and sharing them on their blog. The duo started their blog nearly three years ago during a trip to Portugal.

"We want to have something that would document our trip, almost like a diary, so if we look back, we know exactly where we are," said Galova and Sedlacik.

Although the original idea was intended only as a side project, Lens Between Us finally mastered and is now a potential profession for two photographers.

"If we could find a brand that will sponsor us, then we will be able to travel the world," they said.

Galova and Sedlacik believes the most important component of the success of the blog is to be consistent. If you find a concept that you like it, keep working on it, they say; people won't find you overnight.

"When I first started, it was much easier to get attention than now," he said. "However, it is now also easier to get sponsors and deals with a company's brand."

Both offer the same advice vloggers: be yourself. By creating a video that excites you and express their talent and passion, You allow yourself to stand out, get involved with your audience and to enjoy the process.
